We adopted Jedi (German Shepherd Dog) in April 2007, when she was 4 months old. Her breeder dropped her and her siblings off at one of the local veterinarian clinics, they were malnourished, full of worms, and had not been around people. I started her training the very night we brought her home. Jedi was my demo dog for group classes, and assisted in the rehabilitation of my private client's dogs.

Starting in May 2007, Jedi attended AKC Obedience, AKC Rally, and Canine Good Citizen classes. For the AKC Obedience classes, we worked on Novice level exercises, which include: heel on leash and figure eight, heel free, stand for examination, recall, long sit (1 minute), long down (3 minutes). For the AKC Rally classes, we worked on Novice, Advanced, and Excellent level exercises, with all 50 signs.
In March 2008, Jedi took and successfully passed the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test, at only 15 months old! Since then, she has assisted me in CGC testing. The CGC test items include:

1. Accept a friendly stranger 2. Sit politely for petting 3. Appearance and grooming 4. Our for a walk (walking on a loose leash) 5. Walk through a crowd 6. Sit and Down on command/ staying in place 7. Come when called 8. Reaction to another dog 9. Reaction to distractions 10. Supervised separation

In Summer 2008, Jedi attended a 20 hr AKC Tracking course by Behavior Systems Consultants. We worked towards a TD (Tracking Dog) title. Jedi was tracking 300-500 yards with 3 to 5 turns, aged from 30 min to one hour. She would indicate one article (glove, wallet, handkerchief) at the end of the track and one part-way thru the track.

In Fall 2008, Jedi assisted with the instruction of the 20 hr AKC Tracking course by Behavior Systems Consultants.

In November 2009, Jedi and Victoria were awarded the Novice Trick Dog (NTD) title from Do More With Your Dog! and Kyra Sundance. For the Novice Trick level, we performed these tricks:
1. come 2. down 3. drop it/give 4. fetch/take it 5. get your leash 6. hoop jump 7. jump over a bar 8. place (circle to my left side) 9. pull on a rope 10. side (swing to my left side) 11. sit 12. spin circles 13. stay 14. touch a target 15. tunnel	From Warfel's Jedi Knight

In January 2010, Jedi and Victoria were awarded the Intermediate Trick Dog (ITD) title from Do More With Your Dog! and Kyra Sundance. For the Intermediate Trick level, we performed these tricks:

In July 2010, Jedi and Victoria were awarded the Advanced Trick Dog (ATD) title from Do More With Your Dog! and Kyra Sundance. For the Advanced Trick level, we performed these tricks:

In July 2011, Jedi and Victoria were awarded the Expert Trick Dog (ETD) title from Do More With Your Dog! and Kyra Sundance. For the Expert Trick level, we performed these tricks:
