K-9 Sports Combining AKC Canine Good Citizen, Rally & Nose Work -
For dogs with previous training
This course combines AKC Canine Good Citizen, Rally, and Nose Work! Each week, we will spend time refining their good manners in preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test, navigate novice level Rally courses, and detect scent and determine its source in Nose Work.
Requirements
All dogs are welcome to participate (including mixed breeds). Your dog must have had previous training (focus on you, perform sit, down, come, stay, walk on a loose leash, and respond to his name). Check with Victoria if you are unsure if your dog will fit into this class.
If you have a reactive dog, contact Dream Dogz for behavior modification training. Your dog is not ready for group classes.

AKC Canine Good Citizen
The CGC test consists of 10 skills needed by all well-mannered dogs. All of the exercises are done on a leash. Some therapy dog groups require the CGC as a prerequisite for therapy work and a number of state legislatures have endorsed the CGC concept.
ITEM 1-Accept a Friendly Stranger ITEM 2-Sit Politely For Petting ITEM 3-Appearance and Grooming ITEM 4-Out for a Walk (on a Loose Leash) ITEM 5-Walk Through a Crowd ITEM 6-Sit and Down/Stay in Place ITEM 7-Come When Called ITEM 8-Reaction to Another Dog ITEM 9-Reaction to Distractions ITEM 10-Supervised Separation
Rally
For Novice AKC Rally, there is a requirement of 10-15 stations (with no more than 5 stationary exercises). Each station has a sign providing instructions regarding the skill to be performed. All exercises are performed on-leash. Learn the Novice level signs and do a full course.
The main objective of Rally is to produce dogs that have been trained to behave in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs.
Nose Work
Nose Work is a new dog sport that allows your dog to use his natural ability to detect scent and determine its source.
